Continue reading “Race Results 2025”On Saturday 14 June the Vice Commodore’s Cup for single handed boats was sailed in some very interesting weather. To say it rained is an understatement and the wind was very variable. Congratulations to Iain Millar in his Laser Radial for retaining the Laser cup. Unfortunately there were no Solos sailing so that cup was not awarded.
Sunday 15 June, in much more steady wind and without the heavy rain, saw double handed boats compete for the Vice Commodore’s cups for Mirrors and Enterprises. In total 3 Enterprises, 4 Mirrors, 1 RS Feva and 2 Laser 2000s were on the water. The wind was steady enough for the RS Feva and Laser 2000 to have a go at using their spinnakers. Charles Morrish with crew Dan Swaffield won the Enterprise Cup. Gerry Goodfellow with his son Lewis crewing for him won the Mirror Cup. Well done to Charles for retaining his trophy.
Below is a selection of photos from the weekend.

Continue reading “Race Results 2024”St Mary’s club members visited Forfar Sailing and Watersports Club over the weekend of 28 and 29 September, and came away with some of the silverware. The club sails on Forfar Loch, a small area of water where the boats are always close together, the wind is never constant, there are often big windshifts, and patchy wind coverage. Sounds a lot like St Mary’s, apart from the size of the loch!
Continue reading “2024 St Mary’s On Tour (To Forfar!)”The wind on Saturday was Westerly F4 gusting F6 and the Race Officer took the fleet further down the Loch for less shifty conditions, nevertheless the rescue teams were still kept pretty busy!
Continue reading “2024 Enterprise Scottish Nationals”The Vice Commodore’s Cup races were held on the weekend of 15 and 16 June, with the Saturday being for single-handed boats, and the Sunday being for the double-handed classes. Results can be found on the Race Results page. Thanks to the various people who provided race officer and rescue boat services over the weekend.
Continue reading “2024 Vice Commodore’s Cup”St Mary’s Loch Sailing Club held a wild and windy regatta on Saturday 8 June, with exciting sailing, hard work, and lots of capsizes being the order of the day.
Continue reading “2024 Laser (ILCA) & Streaker Regatta”St Mary’s loch recently held a regatta on the 27th and 28th of April, with freezing temperatures and strong winds on day 1. Lots of young sailors persevered and competed in the races. Some sailors retired after a few races but many continued. After a long day everyone was warned up with some lovely homemade warm chilli made by some of the club members, which we were all very grateful for!
