Off the Water Walks

Our membership is an active bunch – and many of us enjoy other outdoor pursuits as well as watersports. A group of members go for a hike from time to time, exploring the scenery and sometimes the history around our area, and especially enjoying being in the company of like-minded people.

Here are some pictures of a wee expedition in the Pentlands on 19 February 2025, organised by Charles and Alison. We covered about 8 km (5 miles) in a little under 3 hours on this chilly, breezy February day.

2024 St Mary’s On Tour (To Forfar!)

St Mary’s club members visited Forfar Sailing and Watersports Club over the weekend of 28 and 29 September, and came away with some of the silverware. The club sails on Forfar Loch, a small area of water where the boats are always close together, the wind is never constant, there are often big windshifts, and patchy wind coverage. Sounds a lot like St Mary’s, apart from the size of the loch!

2024 Vice Commodore’s Cup

2024 Vice Commodore’s Cup

The Vice Commodore’s Cup races were held on the weekend of 15 and 16 June, with the Saturday being for single-handed boats, and the Sunday being for the double-handed classes. Results can be found on the Race Results page. Thanks to the various people who provided race officer and rescue boat services over the weekend.
