On 17 January almost 60 members and friends of the sailing club gathered at Dryburgh Abbey Hotel in the Scottish Borders to remember old friends, celebrate a successful 2025 season, and look forward to season 2026.

This year our Opening Social was held on 20 April. Despite the earlier forecast the weather was wonderful – unless you were sailing and looking for some steady wind. Commodore Mike Lewis opened the proceedings with a short speech of welcome to everybody including our new members and he presented Lorry Young with his RYA Long Service Award. This was given to Lorry for all that he does for the club and all of us appreciate the help he gives to all of us.

On 18 January some 70 plus members of the sailing club gathered at The Carfraemill near Lauder to celebrate the season past and to look forward to season 2025.

There wasn’t a wet suit in sight but a glance at the car park saw that several members had opted to practise their van living skills in preparation for the new season.

A very successful “out of season” work party was held on 9 March 2024, when a huge effort was put in. There was a real buzz around the club and it definitely felt everyone was looking forward to the new season and being back at the club.
