Delay in 2019 Season Opening
As I’m sure you are aware, we agreed that SBC would have access to our premises to undertake the beach regrading works during our closed season. The contractor has been onsite for some weeks and works are ongoing. However progress has been slower than anticipated, not least as a result of the complexities of working in water and recent weather conditions. SBC has issued a revised programme and works are now expected to be complete on 9th April.
To accommodate any further slight slippage in completion, the committee has agreed that the club will delay its opening until 20 April 2019. This includes the grounds as reinstatement woks will be required around the working area.
Boats and caravans should therefore not be delivered onto club grounds before the 20th. Please also note areas may still be cordoned off and I’d ask that these areas are not crossed or boats parked within them as the ground may need to recover.
The opening work party will be held on 20th (10AM - 2PM) and racing will commence on 21st (usual 11AM start).
We are still planning to hold the opening social on the 14th April (12 Noon - 4PM). The venue has however changed and we will hold this at St Mary’s Hall, Cappercleuch.
The blue card has been amended to reflect these changes and copies together with the usual camp forms will be available at the opening social.
SBC are aware that the works are now affecting the operation of the club. It is making every effort to complete on time and minimise any further disruption.
Thanks for your patience,
